A very rare inkwell and its double-glazed lid, square in section with rounded corners and a chimney-shaped neck. Magnificent decoration, engraved in fine acid-etched reliefs, painted with polychrome enamels and highlighted with gold, depicting two dragonflies flying over flowering violets on a frosted background with interspersed mauve marbling. Remarkable quality of enameling!
