Gallery - Emile Gallé Pedestal Table “Umbellishes”

Superb pedestal table in molded and openwork solid walnut. It features a polylobed top echoing the design, a recessed marquetry motif of hogweed against a walnut and rosewood background. The base is tripled on each side and connected by an openwork, also inlaid, stretcher; the uprights are tripled at the top to depict the flower stem. Very fine quality of cabinetmaking and a magnificent patinated finish!
