An exceptional triple-layered glass vase with a flattened ovoid base and a long, rounded neck. Magnificently decorated in cameo style using acid etching and wheel engraving, it depicts a large dragonfly with outstretched wings flying over a marsh blooming with water lilies and arrowheads. The luminous effect is superb! Note the precise separation of the different glass layers, with the blue layer accurately defining the aquatic scene, and the transparency of the brown layer tinting the submerged plants green.
