Rare molded and carved solid walnut chest opening with a flap lid with scalloped cutouts. Superb inlaid decoration illustrating a snowy landscape, animated by characters carrying bundles and a dog for the cover, foliage and flowers for the front panel and the sides. Very good quality of cabinetmaking, maple wood for the illustrated snow, ash for the airy decor and walnut for the panel backgrounds. Note a small crack in the mattress pad on the bottom of the flap on the right side.
