Spectacular pedestal table in molded and exquisitely carved solid walnut. The curved base features three giant dragonflies with outstretched wings supporting two shelves. The upper shelf is polylobed and carved in high relief with floral motifs, and features an inlaid decoration of marsh marigolds and a dragonfly in flight. The trilobed lower shelf is decorated with water lilies. A rare and iconic piece, it was exhibited at the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris. A museum-quality piece in impeccable condition!
