A rare solid walnut folding table, molded and carved. It features a swiveling top with rounded cutouts, inlaid with a chessboard and clover leaves. (Mahogany and Japanese ash for the chessboard, Macassar ebony and amaranth on a walnut ground around the edge.) It rests on four tapered, ribbed trapezoidal legs. An identical model is displayed in the collections of the Villa Majorelle; a very fine example of cabinetmaking!
